How to Explain to Children That Their Grandmother Won't Remember Them

I hope you will take the time to participate by adding your comment below the question. Please feel free to share your own insight, advice, or experience.

Alzheimer's Reading Room

Lauren Turner asked,

I had a heartbreaking discussion with one of my caregivers who is concerned with how to explain to her 10 year old daughter and 12 year old son that their Grandmother would not remember them.

I was not sure what to recommend to her.

Does anyone have suggestions on how a parent explains the affects of Alzheimer's disease to a child?
